I have  a small cattery where all of the cats are pets first, breeders and show cats second.  I believe in having the animals share the environment with me, although in certain circumstances isolation is necessary.

Isolation takes place in my bedroom or office with me.  The stud pen is a very large walk-in (7 x 20 feet), and is necessary to keep peace in the house, and prevent indiscriminate breeding. The stud pen is located in a walk out basement with windows and full spectrum lighting.  It's also "feline central" in the house, in order to keep the boy from feeling alone.

I am very opposed to declawing of any cats unless all alternatives are exhausted. Scratching is an instinctual behavior, which can be observed in every species of feline, from our domestic cats' wild relatives -

to a cat who has been declawed. Declawing is an amputation of the first digit of each toe - the actual removal of bone, not just nail. In many cases it causes otherwise well adjusted cats to have litterpan aversion, and take to biting. My cats are fully trained to a scratching post and I require that all buyers provide one for their pets. There are many kinds of scratching posts available, from huge, multi-platform cat trees,

to small basic ones.

Need a scratching post?  I can attest to the quality and craftsmanship of the products available from B. J. Marketers.

I require that kittens sold as pets are altered by one year of age, and never bred. Rocquoone only sells cats with breedrights to approved established catteries.

I am available to a buyer for the life of the cat. Any questions, any problems, I will assist in any way that I can. I ask that if a buyer is unable to keep a kitty purchased from me, they either return the kitty or allow me to aid in placement, so that I can be certain of a suitable replacement home. I take very seriously the responsibility undertaken in breeding Maine Coons.
