This web page is dedicated to my special babies who have since left this earth but never my heart.
Rocky Raccoon was the first kitty registered under the Rocquoone name. Rocky (the red mackerel tabby) was a pet quality boy who I simply could not part with due to his wonderful disposition and character. He was "Uncle Rock" to every kitten that came through our home during his life with me. Despite the valiant efforts of many professionals, Rocky succumbed to idiopathic encephalitis in 1993 at age 6.
A candle for Chester - 11/28/1990 -
05/01/2004 GP Rocquoone ChesterChester was a blue-silver tabby who as we understand it, was CFA's first blue-silver Grand Premier. He was a joy to care for, intelligent, gentle and loving. His schmoozing could warm the coldest heart, and his impressive coat, the coldest nights. People who said they didn't like cats changed their minds when they met Chester. Once, a pizza delivery man at the front door took a giant step backwards, and with huge eyes told me that there was a cougar sitting in my hallway. Chester was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at age 10, a common disease of older cats. He responded very well to treatment. He developed feline asthma 2 years later and was maintained on inhaled medications but had frequent bronchial infections thereafter. Chester's kidneys failed in late April of 2004. I let him go to Rainbow Bridge with the gentle help of our vet right here at the home he knew and loved. A rose garden marks his final resting place. The photo below was taken 10/23/01.
